About Lunch Rock
Trail angels half a mile from the Olympic National Park Visitor Center in Port Angeles, Washington.
Lunch Rock is the home of SOS and Kindabird — who met hiking a long-distance trail — and their son Basweight, who was their next adventure. We have a little house close to the park, where we happily host long-distance hikers who need to resupply in Port Angeles, sort out the logistics for this section of their journey, or just rest for the night. We love being trail angels, and we love hearing about your trip.
We almost always have a spot for a tent in the yard, with access to laundry, a shower, the kitchen, charging, and whatever local knowledge we can offer — but always contact us ahead of time to make sure. The easiest way to reach us is email at lunchrock19@gmail.com, and you can also find our contact note in the Port Angeles comments on FarOut.
Why "Lunch Rock"?
A lunch rock is exactly what it sounds like: a nice rock to have lunch on. Especially handy when you're hiking in the snow and everything else is wet. We figured a place to stop, rest, and refuel deserved the name of the thing we were always looking for when hiking together.
