Port Angeles, Washington

Welcome, hikers.

Lunch Rock is a quiet stop for long-distance hikers — especially folks on the Pacific Northwest Trail — who need a night's rest before, or after, the Olympics. Camp in the yard or sleep in the basement, do laundry, take a shower, charge up, and get your bearings.

Always reach out before you arrive. We almost always have a spot, but we're a working household — a quick message lets us say yes and have things ready. Email lunchrock19@gmail.com, or find our contact note in the Port Angeles comments on FarOut.

What you'll find here

🛏️ A place to sleep

Pitch a tent in the yard, or take the mattress and couch in the basement. A real night off your feet before a hard stretch.

🚿 Shower & laundry

Get clean and reset your kit. Wash and dry a load so you start the next section fresh.

🔌 Resupply & charge

Power up your electronics, sort your food, and use the kitchen. Town's close for anything you're missing.

🗺️ Local know-how

We've hiked long trails ourselves. Ask us about tides, transit, weather windows, and the coast route.

Coming or going through the Olympics

For most thru-hikers, the Olympic section is the hardest part of the Pacific Northwest Trail — and for westbounders, it's the grand finale. Hikers heading eastbound are just getting started. Either way, a real bed, a hot shower, and a little local knowledge go a long way. We're half a mile from the Olympic National Park Visitor Center, so you're close to the trail and close to town.
